About Rayyan Haya

Rayyan Haya' provides a modest clothing line for women to be able to dress fashionably while still being able to keep their modesty in check for His sake.

The term Rayyan Haya' is a combination of two Arabic words;

Rayyan ريَّان is the name of one of the doors of Paradise, according to Islamic tradition. Lexically, the word ‘Rayyaan’ means well-watered, lush, succulent, pretty, sated with drink, etc. It is commonly used as an adjective for something positive, e.g. some who has a lot of knowledge would be referred to as ‘Rayyaan bil Ilm’.

Haya' هيا may be translated as modesty, shyness, self-respect, bashfulness, shame honor, humility etc. The original meaning of Haya refers to a bad and uneasy feeling accompanied by embarrassment, caused by one's fear of being exposed for some unworthy or indecent conduct. Islamically, Haya' is an attribute which encourages believers to avoid anything distasteful.

Established on the 31st of December 2013, Rayyan Haya have grown from a fully operational online shopping platform to joining vendor boutiques such as SincerelyByUs Shawls, Monsterdeal, Maleeqa Exclusive and Modvier. Since mid-November 2015, its own physical store was opened at Bangi Sentral, Bandar Baru Bangi and in late August 2016, its first branch was opened at Gong Badak, Kuala Terengganu. Rayyan Haya has also been, since early 2015, an active participant in the fashion exhibition tours of Malaysia's increasingly renowned event organizer, Mood Republik.
